AI Usage Transparency
Last Updated: October 2026
Servers TL;DR: Strictly Prohibited
AI tools are completely forbidden across our DevOps infrastructure. No AI software may be installed on production servers, used within SSH tunnels, or consulted for server maintenance tasks. All server maintenance must strictly follow official documentation.
Backend TL;DR: Strictly Restricted & Monitored
AI tools are not integrated into backend development environments. Developers are permitted to use browser-based AI only for reference, library examples, or secondary code reviews. All generated suggestions must be strictly cross-referenced and verified against official documentation.
Frontend TL;DR: Allowed & Monitored
Our policy on using AI in the code editor for frontend edits is more flexible. Human review is still required to maintain consistency and to create initial examples that the AI can use to generate components. All AI-generated JavaScript must be reviewed by a human.
Content Creation TL;DR: Limited to grammar & style
Content creators can use AI tools to check their human-written copy for proper spelling and grammar. AI can also offer helpful styling suggestions for creators to evaluate. Additionally, AI tools may assist in drafting standard documentation and routine documents that do not require high creativity.
Data Privacy & Confidentiality TL;DR: Strictly Enforced / No Sensitive Data
Never input customer data, personally identifiable information (PII), proprietary business logic, or API keys/credentials into external AI tools.
Testing & QA TL;DR: Allowed for Generation, Prohibited for Automated Approvals
Developers may use AI to draft test suites or generate mock data. However, AI cannot be used as an automated testing pass/fail judge without human verification.
Database & Queries TL;DR: Prohibited on Live Databases
AI tools must never be given access to query live production or staging databases. Using AI to generate complex SQL queries is permitted only if verified on local mock environments first.
